Traffic Police Division press officer Antonina Talpa has told Info-Prim Neo that a criminal case was started against the driver of the car involved in the accident. He faces 3 to 7 years in jail and may be deprived of the driver’s license for a period of up to four years. The driver is investigated on the outside. He is 29 and is from the municipality of Chisinau. The accident happened at the intersection of Pushkin St and Stefan cel Mare Blvd. on the night of October 1. The victim was rushed to the hospital in a coma. He suffered an open pelvic fracture. The driver left the place of the accident and abandoned the car two quarters away. He was arrested by the police in nine hours.
