The proposal of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection to declare March 7 a day off, ahead of the International Women’s Day on March 8, hasn’t been approved, IPN learns from the Government press service.
Under the proposal, which was launched for public debate in early January, public sector employees were to enjoy a mini-holiday spanning four days from Saturday, March 5, to Tuesday, March 8, which is a national holiday. To recover the lost business day on March 7, employees were supposed to go to work on Saturday, March 12, instead.
A similar decision to declare March 7 a day off and March 12 a business day instead was adopted in 2016.
