The material assistance offered to civil servants will be decreased from two average monthly salary funds to one average monthly salary fund a year. This applies to functionaries of the central and local administration and to employees of the central apparatuses and the national defense, security and public order bodies. At its last meeting, the Government approved amendments to the law on the pay system in the budgetary sector, Info-Prim Neo reports. Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga explained the reduction was determined by the necessity of optimizing the use of resources in budget-funded institutions. The Government also proposed abrogating article 18 of the law so as to level the remuneration conditions for public servants. Buliga said the given measures will enable to save about 50 million lei a year.
