Acting Prime Minister Natalia Gherman instructed carrying out a thorough analysis of the causes of the Bacioi accident in which five persons were killed and holding accountable those to blame for it, including on counts of murder. The measures taken to investigate the accident that happened in the evening of July 25 were discussed in a working meeting of the Government on July 27, IPN reports.
Acting minister of the interior Oleg Balan said the accident could have been the result of the illegal races staged on that road.
It was agreed to amend the legal framework with a view to instituting punishment for organizers of such races. A bill to this effect was put forward in 2012, but wasn’t passed by Parliament.
Natalia Gherman also ordered continuing the operations “White nights”, which are aimed at combating driving under the influence, and intensely patrolling the roads where drivers use to speed and places with a higher risk of accidents.
Five persons aged between 28 and 46 died in the road accident in Bacioi. Three persons were hospitalized. Two of these are now at the Emergency Medicine Institute. One of them is in a coma.
