The driver of a minibus running on the Slobozia – Chisinau route swallowed a driver’s license obtained illegally in the Transnistrian region during a police check, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Traffic Police, the driver presented the documents that included a temporary driver’s license of category D that is mandatory for drivers involved in passenger transportation. The license aroused suspicion as the driver has not yet turned 24, when license of category D can be issued. The driver tried to destroy the evidence and swallowed the license. Afterward, the police established that the license was fake, but the driver refused to say who forged it. It was later determined that the 22-year-old driver was involved in illegal passenger transportation earlier as well. The minibus that belongs to a private transport company will remain confiscated until the circumstances of the case and the persons to blame are identified. The Traffic Police Division, in concert with the relevant ministries, continues to make effort to combat the illegal transportation of passengers, in accordance with a Government order.
