Minister of Defense Alexandru Pînzari will not come to Parliament for questioning on June 18. He informed the legislature’s secretariat that he is on a field trip in northern Moldova. The PAS MPs, who asked to invite the minister to Parliament, said they will check if the minister left before or after the vote on the hearing was held, IPN reports.
In the plenary sitting, the Parliament’s secretary general Adrian Albu said that functionaries of the Ministry informed that the minister is at a military unit in northern Moldova. They said he apologies and promises to accept the next invitation.
“It was a vote in Parliament. If the minister left in the morning, before that vote, it is one thing. But if he left after he learned that we voted to invite him to Parliament, it is another, very serious thing. This would be complete disrespect for Parliament and we will have to decide what to do,” said PAS MP Sergiu Litvinenco.
The PAS MPs asked to question the minister of defense in Parliament so that he provides information about the decision to detach Moldovan service members to take part in the parade in Moscow amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
