Ministers Tanase and Negruta to form part of tax returns examination commission
Minister of Justice Alexandru Tanase and Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta were named to the central tax returns examination commission. The third candidate fielded for member of the commission – the head of the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime Viorel Chetraru – withdrew his candidacy, arguing there was a conflict of interests, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Prime Minister Vlad Filat said a new examination mechanism should be identified so as to avoid situations when members of the Government are controlled also by members of the Government.
The Premier instructed the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime to swiftly provide information about how the members of the executive submit tax returns. He stressed the necessity of indicating accurate data in the tax returns. “When you look at some of these documents, you want to cry as you realize how poor some of the colleagues are,” Vlad Filat joked.
