The Ministry of Education today has published on its website factsheets containing brief information on all the schools in the country, IPN reports.

A school factsheet contains information on the number of students and their mean exam scores for every educational stage, the number of teachers and their degrees of qualification, the school's budget and the language of teaching. Information can be compared with district or national averages.

Examining the factsheets, anyone interested can see how much money has been allocated to a particular school and how much has been spent per student. Expenditure information also includes teachers' salaries, costs of teachers' training and costs of services.

The responsibility for the accuracy of the data contained in factsheets lies with the administrations of the schools that provided the information, the Ministry said.

As of October 10, there were 1,354 institutions of general education in Moldova.
