Football commentator Victor Renita accuses the board of TV channel „Moldova 1” for sending an unprofessional commentator to the European Football Championship. Renita stated in a press conference that Dumitru Chitoroaga, who was sent to comment the semi-finals and the finals, has proven up until now a complete lack of knowledge of the sports’ terminology and of the Romanian language, reports Info-Prim Neo.
According to Victor Renita, acting director of the public TV channel Efim Josanu did not into account previous viewers’ complaints about Dumitru Chitoroaga’s unprofessionalism.
“To the detriment of the viewer pool, the board of “Moldova 1” defied the criterion of quality in choosing the commentator and, despite intial agreements, removed Victor Renita and Cristian Frisc from the Euro 2012 commentator list, although the two had a superior-quality performance during the group stage of the championship, which many viewers appreciated. Instead of taking Dumitru Chitoroaga away from the microphone, for his weak performance, that compromises the publicly funded institution and negatively influences the conversational habits of the viewers, including the youth, the board of “Moldova 1” randomly decided to promote him by delegating him to Donetsk, Warsaw and Kiev for commenting the last matches of the 2012 European Football Championship”, stated Victor Renita.
The commentator says that by analyzing the sole match between Spain and Ireland one can see all of Dumitru Chitoroaga’s incompetence in terms of both football and grammar. According to Victor Renita, these reasons are sufficient and provide enough evidence for the Broadcasting Coordination Council to start investigating the circumstances under which the acting manager decided to favor Chitoroaga.
