After a long break, Moldova and France have relaunched negotiations on the draft bilateral social security agreement. A meeting of the delegations of both states centered on issues related to the provision of pensions to citizens of Moldova and France, IPN reports.
The delegation from Chisinau was represented by secretary of state of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection Corina Ajder, the head of the National House of Social Insurance Elena Țîbîrnă, and Moldova’s Ambassador to France Corina Călugăru.
The negotiations were conducted with the French authorities and were hosted by the Ministry of Solidarity and Health of France. During this round of negotiations, the teams of both countries examined the content of the social security agreement.
"After more than 8 years since the initiation of this draft agreement, our French partners have shown their readiness to finalize the negotiations. The next round is to take place in January, in Chisinau. We aim to bring concrete benefits to our citizens by extending the social protection and pension rights," said Corina Ajder.
The secretary of state of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection also had a meeting with the deputy chairwoman of the French Senate’s Social Affairs Committee Véronique Guillotin, who underlined the wish to make swift progress in the negotiations.
