Moldova will facilitate return of citizens who overstayed in the U.S., PM

The Republic of Moldova will facilitate the return to the country of citizens who overstayed their visas in the United States, Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced, noting that the state accepted the Trump administration's approach, IPN reports.

"Indeed, the U.S. asked all partner countries, including the Republic of Moldova, to facilitate the transportation or bringing home of citizens who violated the regime of stay in the United States. We confirmed that the Republic of Moldova will facilitate the return of our citizens," Premier Recean told a press conference.

According to him, there are no data on the number of Moldovan citizens who overstayed their visas in the U.S. The official Chisinau is waiting for information from the U.S. authorities.

The international press reported that the Trump administration is pursuing agreements with several more countries to take migrants deported from the U.S. Among the countries the U.S. has asked to take the deportees are Libya, Rwanda, Benin, Eswatini, Moldova, Mongolia and Kosovo.
