Moldovan athletes win gold and silver at Balkaniade
The Moldovan athletes won two medals at the Balkan Countries Winter Indoor Track and Field Championships or the Balkaniade that closed in Istanbul on February 24.
Vladimir Letnicov won gold in triple jump with the result of 16.59 meters, while Andrei Miticov won silver in high jump with 2.18 meters, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Also in the men’s competition, Andrei Fedotov ranked fifth in pole vault, Ion Siuris came sixth in the 800 m race, while Andrei Miticov finished sixth in long jump.
Among women, Tatiana Cicanci ranked fourth in triple jump, while Irina Tverdohlebova finished fourth in pole vault.
In the nations rankings, Moldova was seventh in the men’s and tenth in the women’s competition.
The 18th Balkaniade involved sportspersons from 14 countries.
