Moldovan caught smuggling cigarettes to Romania

A truck registered in Moldova was stopped at the Albita border crossing point in Romania’s Vaslui county. It was to enter Romania. The driver, who had Moldovan and Romanian nationalities, said that he was transporting jars to Macedonia. But, as a result of a check, the border inspectors found packs of cigarettes with Moldovan excise stamps in the vehicle, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Iasi Border Police Inspectorate, investigations are underway to determine the exact quaintly of cigarettes and identify all the persons involved. Legal measures will be taken when the investigations are over.
