Moldovan students from Iasi head for customs offices

Moldovan students from Romanian universities and Basarabians living in Romania head for the customs offices with Moldova to join the protesters in downtown Chisinau. Buses with students are heading towards the Sculeni customs, Info-Prim Neo reports. Romanian media report that all the Moldovan border-crossing points are blocked, as scores of Moldovan students keep arriving in Iasi. The first four buses with about 200 students have already started for the border. “We know the customs office is closed. But anyway we go to protest there. Maybe we manage to pass through,” said Victor, a student at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University from Iasi. On Tuesday, the students failed to pass through the customs. In Bucharest, the Basarabian students expect for the results of the ones attempting to cross the border today, and then will decide whether to leave for Chisinau. Two meetings are expected to start in Bucharest in front of the Moldovan embassy and in the University's square, as some 2,000 attendees are expected. Moldovan students protested on Tuesday in the Romanian cities of Iasi, Timisoara, Cluj and Galati.
