Moldovan teams learned their first adversaries in this season‘s European competitions. The draw took place today, June 25, at the HQ of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) in Nyon, Switzerland, Info-Prim Neo reports. National titleholders Sheriff Tiraspol will meet Armenian champions Ulisses in the second preliminary round of the Champions League. They will play the visiting match on July 17 or 18 in Armenia, and the home game on July 24/25 in Tiraspol. Moldova has three representatives in the Europa League. In the first preliminary round, FC Dacia will take on Slovenians from NK Celje, while FC Zimbru will meet the Welsh Bangor City. The two-phased disputes will take place on July 5 and 12. Dacia will play the first match on home turf. Moldovan Cup holders Milsami Orhei will play directly in the second round, scheduled for July 19 and 26. They will meet the winners of the fixture between Georgia’s Torpedo Kutaisi and Kazakhstan’s FK Aktobe. Moldova’s best result in European club competitions was Sheriff’s participation in the group stages of the Europa League in 2009 and 2010.
