The Moldovans associate the term ‘corruption’ mainly with the leader of the Communist Party Vladimir Voronin and First Deputy Speaker Vlad Plahotniuc, says an opinion poll carried out by the Sociological Research Center of Moldova and the Institute of Economic Development and European Policies, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Released on February 5, the poll shows that 22% of those questioned associate the term ‘corruption’ with Vladimir Voronin, 22% with Vlad Plahotniuc, 14% with Prime Minister Vlad Filat, while 5% with the Liberal Party head Mihai Ghimpu.
The question was open and among other functionaries associated with corruption the respondents named the Democratic leader Marian Lupu (4%), the chairman of the Party of Socialists of Moldova Igor Dodon (3%), and the former leader of the Christian Democratic People’s Party Iurie Rosca (1%). 29% of those polled named other persons.
The poll covered a sample of 1,100 persons and was conducted during January 10-24. The margin of sampling error is ± 3 %.
