Moldova’s U17s narrowly defeated by Bulgaria
Moldova’s U17 women’s team lost all the matches in the preliminary tournament for the 2013 European Championship, Info-Prim Neo reports. Thus, the Tricolors failed to qualify to the next stage.
In the last match of the group, the girls coached by Victor Senic were close to a good result, but in the dying moments of the game, Greta Damyanova scored from a free kick and won the match for Bulgaria.
After this defeat, the Moldovans finished bottom of the group, without any points or scored goals. The preliminary mini-tournament took place in Moldova and was won by Switzerland, who bested Belgium 2-1 in the decisive game.
Moldova’s U19 women’s team will play the last qualification match today. The girls coached by Victor Greapca will take on Slovakia. In the first games, the Tricolors lost 0-11 to Denmark and 0-5 to Iceland, and are out of the qualification fight.
