The Soros Foundation Moldova, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, has announced a contest to select the education institutions that will be outfitted with multimedia classrooms. The contest is held within the project to support the education reform, IPN reports.
Twenty education institutions will be equipped with multimedia classrooms. A multimedia classroom will include an interactive table with an overhead projector, a laptop for the teacher, about 25 tablet computers with detachable keyboard for students, a Wi-Fi router for connecting all the computers from the classroom to a wireless network, a high-resolution webcam and loudspeakers. The classroom will be set up by a specialized company. The supply and installation costs will be covered by the Soros Foundation Moldova.
In order to take part in the contest, the schools must meet several criteria, including: be attended by students from several settlements; be ready to become a resource center for other similar education institutions; have broadband Internet connection; have a room with the necessary cabling and wiring; be situated outside the municipality of Chisinau.
The deadline for applications is September 5. The results of the contest will be announced on September 15.
