National Army penalises incompetent staff
Several specialists, responsible for the supply of the National Army with food were penalized disciplinary for the inadequate exercise of their functional duties, Info-Prim Neo reports quoting the press service of the Ministry of Defence.
Within the meeting of the Military Board of the ministry, Deputy Minister Igor Malai criticised the situation with the procurement and preserving food. The official pointed out a range of lacks in the activity of the Supply Department and the J4 Logistic Division of the General Staff.
The head of the Military Board, Minister Vitalie Vrabie ordered examination and establishment of a new partnership with the civilian commercial structures in order to improve the quality of meals and service as well as saving resources. It was also established that a workgroup should be created to analyse and develop a new pilot partnership concept on the basis of the canteen of the Alexandru cel Bun Institute of the Armed Forces, starting September 1, 2008.
When speaking about the spring enrolment, the head of the J1 Personnel Division Lieutenant-Colonel Eduard Ohladciuc mentioned that the activity of some military centres are operating inadequately, both in fulfilling the enrolment plan and in the qualitative selection of the recruits. The same aspects were addressed by the head of the Central Military Clinical Hospital, head doctor of the Ministry of Defence, colonel Ion Targon. He pointed out the high number of young men who, because of health problems, are brought back to the territorial medical-military commissions for investigations, although in the first place they are appreciated as fit for military service.
The enrolment is operated in two stages: from May 6 to May 15 and from June 2 to June 14. 1370 recruits are to be enrolled to the military service in the National army, 750 – in border guard troops and 890 – in the carabineer troops.
