National media products monitored for marketing purposes
The media products of 27 radio stations and 18 TV channels working in Moldova are monitored round-the-clock through the Media Forest system. Alexandru Popovich, director of the company that is implementing this system, said they aim to determine the message conveyed by the national media and transform it into a marketing instrument, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Media Forest system includes software that measures the frequency of the appearance of the media products and the length of the appearance. Anyone can benefit from this information free of charge, by creating an account on the company’s website - mediaforest.md.
“The software listens to all the radio and TV stations three seconds after the event takes place and includes it in the report. The human factor cannot intervene,” said the company’s director.
The mass media institutions, impresarios, producers, singers and other interested persons can sign a contract with Media Forest Moldova to receive more detailed information than that available on the company’s site.
“These data are needed in order to monitor the activity on the media market and amplify competition,” said Alexandru Popovich.
The monitoring covers the channels with the highest rating, according to the data of specialized companies. In the future, there will be monitored more institutions. “We want to become the eyes and ears of the media industry in Moldova,” said the director of Media Forest Moldova.
The company started work in May 2011.
