NDI and IRI registered officially

The representative offices of the U.S. National Democratic Institute (NDI) and the International Republican Institute (IRI) have been registered at the Ministry of Justice of Moldova. The registration certificates were handed over by Minister of Justice Alexandru Tanase on September 29, Info-Prim Neo reports. The two organizations aim to devise new methods, conceptions, ideas for studying the promotion and protection of the fundamental human rights and freedoms. The members of the institutes will organize seminars, conferences, meetings, lessons involving experts in different fields. The organizations will analyze the social and legal problems faced by the Moldovan society and help solve them by contributing to the development of the intellectual potential of the Moldovan people. Alexandru Tanase apologized for the delayed registration of the two institutes in the name of the Government of Moldova. “The registration of the two organizations represents in fact the beginning of a new stage in the Moldovan Government's relationship with the civil society. I hope this is a good start in the cooperation with the U.S. democratic institutions, which come to help us here. “The two institutes will remain important partners in the political reforms that we will initiate together with the political parties and the whole society,” the Minister said. Alexandru Tanase stressed the necessity of debureaucratizing the registration of nongovernmental organization at the Ministry of Justice. “Bureaucratic mechanisms must exist, but they should be maximally simplified.”
