After the February 28 accident that resulted in the death of the head of the Education Section of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of Chisinau, a similar accident that involved a trolleybus and a cab resulted in the injuring of a man aged 22.
The accident happened in Buiucani district of Chisinau in the evening of February 28. Press officer of the Police Division Natalia Stati said it was preliminarily determined that the cab driver aged 38 didn’t take into account the unfavorable weather conditions and didn’t keep the distance between vehicles. As a result, the taxi hit from behind a trolleybus running on route No. 4, which was driven by a woman aged 61.
The taxi passenger was taken to the hospital to receive medical care. His life is out of danger. No one else was hurt. The cab driver is liable to a fine of 1,500 lei and six penalty points.
Earlier the same day, a trolleybus running on route No. 1 and a cab collided at the interception of Stefan cel Mare Blvd and Sergey Lazo St in Chisinau. The head of the Education Section Larisa Crudu was travelling as a passenger in the cab. According to the driver of the trolleybus, the taxi driver, who suffered serious injuries, didn’t stop at the red color of the traffic lights.
The colleagues of Larisa Crudu posted a message of condolence. “The news of the sudden death of Missus Larisa Crudu, head of the Education Section of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of Chisinau, shocked us and saddened us profoundly. We regret the loss of a reliable colleague, a person with a big heart and a highly qualified specialist. By her own example, she motivated us to be optimistic, resistant and correct towards coworkers, parents and students. We fell honored to have had her near us. God rest her soul,” says the message.
