The minimum monthly incomes for which compensations for heat are provided in Chisinau municipality may be raised from 1,450 lei to 1,600 lei. This is provided in the new regulations that are to be approved by the Chisinau Municipal Council.

Contacted by IPN, head of the General Amenities Division Petru Gontea said the amendments were made in compliance with a Government Decision of 2012, by which the minimum consumer basket is set at 1,600 lei.
 
Under the new regulations, the persons who seek help for the cold period of the year must annually present certificates on the monthly incomes. “We request that the persons who want to benefit from compensations should present a certificate on the monthly incomes of the family from the Main State Tax Inspectorate, as many dwellers provided erroneous information about their real incomes. The certificate is issued with 24 hours,” stated Petru Gontea.

About 34,000 families received cold-month allowances in the municipality of Chisinau during the 2012-2013 season. About 100 million lei was allocated from the municipal budget for the purpose.
