The local public authorities will be obliged to protect the cultural heritage in the managed areas. Minister of Culture Monica Babuc, who presented a relevant bill that was endorsed by the Cabinet, said that in practical terms, most of the local public authorities contribute to protecting the cultural heritage and, if the legislation is adjusted to the real situation, the responsibility of the local public administration in Moldova will increase, IPN reports.

The bill refers to archeological and historical monuments, intangible cultural heritage and cultural and natural reserves situated in district center or settlements administered by the local public authorities.
