Next two months for police will be the most difficult, minister

Minister of the Interior Dorin Recean said that the next two months will be the most difficult for the police as the structural reform starts to be implemented at the institution. In a meeting with Prime Minister Vlad Filat on January 26, the minister said that this process must be finalized by March 5, 2013, when the Police Law will take effect, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Government. “For us, it is important that this reform reach every village police officer. Over the next few weeks, 20 teams will make field trips to discuss with commissioners,” said Dorin Recean. He presented the design of the new uniforms of the employees of the Ministry of the Interior, saying they are convenient and made from fabrics of a high quality. The new uniforms will start to be distributed in summer. The Ministry’s units are also outfitted with technical equipment. “In March, we will receive 90 new cars that will have new graphics. They will be used by the patrol police, which will be also provided with audio and video systems for recording offenses,” said the minister. The Premier asked for efficient and permanent interaction with all those covered by the reform. He also asked calling a meeting of the Ministry’s Board to discuss this process.
