Non-Moldovan economists and jurists suggested to learn Romanian as communicating
The National Association of European Trainers from Moldova (ANTEM) launched a set of materials on Tuesday enabling non-Moldovan adults to study Romanian. The are supposed to be specialists in economy, social assistance, public relations and jurisprudence, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The four textbooks are accompanied by audio lessons on CDs, have the same title: “Let's communicate without barriers.” According to ANTEM manager Lucia Cucu, the materials are not meant for beginners, but for non-Moldovan public servants willing to enhance their linguistic command.
An author of the materials, Sabina Corniciuc, PhD, says they match the requirements of the European Language Reference Frame and represent an interactive method to study a language. “The stress has moved from studying grammar to communication, that is why all the textbooks invite to a dialogue,” Sabina Corniciuc said.
Earlier, ANTEM developed similar manuals for public servants, police and doctors.
The ANTEM professional network was set up in 2005 following an idea of the IDIS think tank, in an attempt to meet the linguistic training needs of Russian-speaking adults and foreign citizens in Moldova.
Over 450 people already attend the classes, held with the financial support of the OSCE High Commissioner for National Minorities.
