Not all prisoners will receive allowances when released
The persons who serve time in prison for refusing to do community service or pay fines under court decisions will not benefit from lump sum payments when set free. This is stipulated in the legislative amendments approved by the Government, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the state incurs costs for supporting these persons in prison and must also pay an allowance of 75% of the average salary when they are released.
A sum of 2.35 million lei will be saved if this category of people is struck off the list of recipients of lump sums.
