The head of the Vitality Medical Examination Council of Ciocana district and four inferiors of hers are suspected of asking for 1,500 lei from a person for issuing an invalidity certificate to him. According to a communiqué from the National Anticorruption Center, earlier the denouncer was obliged to pay 7,000 lei for similar services, IPN reports.
A criminal case was started over passive corruption. The suspects face up to 10 years in jail. The Council’s secretary is held at the Center’s remand unit, while the other persons are investigated on the outside.
In 2001-2006, the head of the Vitality Medical Examination Council of Ciocana district was investigated for professional negligence, forging of public documents and misuse of authority. The court acquitted her then on all the counts.
