One more passenger dies in hospital after Ungheni bus accident
One more woman died today in hospital after yesterday's bus crash in Ungheni district, taking the accident's death toll to 11 people.
Lidia Craciun, director of the Ungheni District Hospital, told Info-Prim Neo that 6 other passengers remain in the intensive care unit. “Ten patients were admitted to intensive care. Three were transferred yesterday to Chisinau and one woman died”, she specified.
The Ministry of Health reported that 39 passengers remain hospitalized, including 11 children. Yesterday 4 patients underwent surgery, and 4 others were operated overnight by teams of doctors from Chisinau. The Ungheni Hospital was provided with sufficient amounts of blood products.
The families of those who died in the accident each received 5,000 lei in aid from the state to organize funerals. At the same time, the National Health Insurance Corporation transferred 400,000 lei to the Ungheni Hospital to treat the survivors.
Eleven passengers, including two children, were killed in a bus accident on August 9 in Ungheni district after the bus fell into a ravine on a dangerous curve.
