One urban minibus earns over 1,000 lei daily
The head of the General Public Transport and Communications Division Adrian Boldurescu, in the January 14 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, presented information about the incomes and expenses of some minibus routes working in the municipality. Initially, the monitoring covered several routes, but the list will be extended at the request of Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the monitoring results, 39 units of transport run on route No. 121. The local tax paid by the route manager is 800 lei a month. The average daily income oscillates between 1,050 and 1,200 lei. Every driver pays daily between 400 and 450 lei to the manager, plus a monthly sum of over 1,000 lei and other costs of about 600 lei a month.
Dorin Chirtoaca asked for reports on all the routes and the relevant explanations. “There must be thorough information about each route because some pay 800 lei a month, while others 2,000 lei. The difference does not seem justified to me. The owners and managers, as well as the passengers, should know how the tariff is formed because it is not based on a legal methodology,” he stated.
In the municipality of Chisinau, there are 19 minibus route operators.
