Open-air classical music concert

60 young musicians, pupils and students from musical education institutions from Moldova and Romania, will perform compositions from the classical period of musical romanticism. The open-air concert will take place on Sunday, 19 August, reports Info-Prim Neo. According to a communique from the Moldovan Choir Music Association, plays easily recognizable even by musical laics have been chosen for Sunday. The performance will include works by P. Tchaikovsky, A. Dvorak, G. Bizet, and J. Brahms. The orchestra will also perform some of the young Moldovan composers’ works. Meanwhile, 20 violins, 6 violas and 6 cellos will perform, for the first time, in the Metropolitan Cathedral Square. They will be accompanied by flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, horn, trombone, trumpet, and harp sounds. Concert conductors are Gabriel Bebeselea, lead conductor of the Iasi Opera, Mihai Secihin, conductor at the National Opera and Ballet Theater and “Serghei Lunchevici” National Philharmonic, and Andriano Marian, conductor and coordinator of the project. Chisinau Youth Orchestra is a cultural project, at its second consecutive edition in Moldova. Throughout three days, the orchestra performed three concerts, i.e. at the Organ Hall (Chisinau), the Hora Square (Cahul), and the Cultural House in Orhei. Classic music lovers are expected at the Metropolitan Cathedral Square in Chisinau, on August 19, start with 7pm.
