More than 30 persons were evacuated from a building situated at 1 Piata Unirii St in Chisinau after a fire engulfed an apartment situated on the tenth floor. Rescuers took four persons out of the apartment, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service.

Eight firefighting vehicles struggled to contain the blaze. The flames destroyed the common balcony and things inside a two-room apartment. An extrication team also intervened. No person was hurt. The fire didn’t spread to other apartments as it was localized quickly.

State anti-fire measures supervision inspectors are to establish the cause and circumstances of the fire.
