Friends of the persons who were killed in the minibus accident near Merenii Noi village on November 4 staged a flashmob meeting in front of the Government Building on November 7. They brought to Transport Minister Anatol Salaru pairs of carnations, which are traditionally carried at funerals, saying the minister is responsible for the accident because he did not take measures to prevent it, Info-Prim Neo reports. Meeting participant Veaceslav Burlacu said that the accident could have been avoided, but it wasn’t because the institutions responsible for roads are managed by nonprofessionals. He stressed that by flashmobbing they try to make the authorities take measures, including to place barriers, signs and additional signals at railway crossings. Anatol Salaru did not come out, even if he was in the building. “He showed that he was a coward. Mister Salaru, you killed four people by your irresponsibility and incompetence. These two flowers are for you, even if you are alive,” said the man. Those who took part in the event left the flowers on the stairs in front of the Government Building. After the Government meeting, Anatol Salaru told the press that he did not see the flashmob meeting. He urged those who stage such events not to try to justify the negligence and incompetence of the drivers. He also said that 12 railway barriers had been destroyed last year and this year. “Neither the barrier, not the red light of the stoplights or the signs stop the drivers because they are irresponsible. There are bodies that will establish who is to blame,” said the minister. Four persons were killed and six were injured when the minibus in which they traveled was struck by a freight train. According to the Traffic Police Division, the driver of the minibus did not stop at the red traffic light at the railway crossing. The passengers were returning from a wedding reception that was held in Mereni.
