Mihai Cotorobai was voted in as people’s ombudsman in the April 3 sitting of Parliament. The candidate for the post of ombudsperson for children’s rights Jana Costachi didn’t garner the necessary number of votes, IPN reports.
The voting procedure in Parliament was initiated last April, when Mihai Cotorobai and Jana Costachi polled the largest number of votes among the candidates proposed by the contest commission.
As Jana Costachi didn’t gather the necessary number of votes at the second stage, a new contest will be held to select a candidate for the post of ombudsperson for children’s rights.
