Pasha Parfeny to represent Moldova at Eurovision in Baku

Moldova will be represented by Pasha Parfeny at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “The Fiddler”. Pasha Parfeny was chosen by the joint vote of the jury and the public. Cristina Croitoru finished second, while Dara third. Before the national final results were announced on March 11, Pasha Parfeny said that if he does not win, we will not take part in Eurovision anymore, Info-Prim Neo reports. Cristina Croitoru with the song “Flight for love” was the public’s favorite. Pasha Parfeny was placed second in the public’s rankings, while Irina Tarasiuc & MC Gootsa third with the song “Save a little sunshine”. The jury gave most of their votes to Pasha Parfeny, Dara with the song “Open your eyes”, and Transbalcanica with “Balkan Riders”. The band “Simplus”, which will represent Switzerland at Eurovision with the song “Unbreakable”, were the special invitees of the national final. Among other invitees were Alex Calancea Band and Cristina Pintilie. The contest will take place in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku on May 22-26, 2012. Moldova will compete in Eurovision for the eighth consecutive time.
