Payments for heating common areas represent 20% of bills

From October 1, the dwellers with autonomous heating systems from Chisinau municipality will pay 20% of the bill calculated for the area of the apartment, not 15% as until now. The tariff was set following normative losses of heat sustained on technical stories and in basements that maintain the piping systems in a functional state in winter.

Contacted by IPN, the head of the press service of the Chisinau heat supplier SA Termocom Iuliana Bogushevski said that initially, the owners of apartments disconnected from the centralized heating system paid 5% of the bill for heating the common areas. Under a Government Decision of 2011, the tariff was raised to 20%. The rise for the apartments disconnected from the heating system before this decision was taken was gradual. In 2011, the dwellers of these apartments paid 10%, while in 2012 -15%. Respectively, this year they will pay 20%.

“The number of persons who want to be disconnected from the centralized heating system has decreased, but the number of those who want to be connected to this system has increased. These are mainly dwellers from new buildings that were initially connected to autonomous heating systems. They incur higher costs and thus want to be supplied with heat by Termocom,” said Iuliana Bogushevski.

The tariff for a gigacalorie of heat supplied by SA Termocom is 987 lei. It was approved by the National Agency for Energy Regulation in 2011
