From November 1, the pensioners can take their social benefits for two months – November and December, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said in a press briefing, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
The benefits of 130 lei a month can be received at any of the branches of Banca de Economii, not yet at post offices, as earlier announced.
The recipients must present only the identity card. In the settlements where there are no branches of Banca de Economii, the employees of the bank will travel to the place themselves, announcing the recipients about their visit beforehand.
More than 521,000 pensioners with a monthly income of under 900 lei and over 33,000 socially-deprived families will receive such social benefits.
A sum of 137 million lei was earmarked for paying benefits for November-December. This sum was transferred to Banca de Economii.
“We will continue to provide benefits in 2011 too. The necessary sums were planned in the draft budget law for the next year. The pensions will be again raised on April 1,” Vlad Filat said.
Earlier, Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Vadim Pistrinciuc said the budget-funded employees will receive social benefits after January 1, 2011, when a new mechanism for calculating them, according to the incomes earned by every member of the family, will be instituted.
