The persons who will throw litter out of window of units of transport face fines of 600 to 1,000 lei or up to 60 hours of community service. Parliament on June 2 adopted in the final reading a bill to amend the Contravention Code put forward by a group of MPs, IPN reports.

Thus, there will be penalized the drivers and passengers who will throw things, substances, waste and cigarette butts.

Following amendments proposed by MPs, the bill stipulates penalties for getting into and out of vehicles while these move and for travelling on stairs, on railcars and in other banned places. The unauthorized stopping of the train, without necessity, and unauthorized travel by freight train will be punished with a fine of up to 300 lei or up to 40 hours of community service.

So far the Contravention Code envisioned penalties only for passengers from public units of transport who throw litter out.
