The police caught a man aged 32 from Chisinau who is suspected of stealing golden necklaces to the value of about 20,000 lei from a number of women in the street, IPN reports.

According to the Chisinau Police Division, the thefts took place in Ciocana district of Chisinau. Until now the police gathered evidence about five cases. It was established that the man attacked only young women who were alone or women with children, especially in the evening. The stolen golden jewels were left with pawnbrokers for small amounts of money.

The police started a criminal case over thefts. The man faces two to five years in jail.
