Five persons aged between 20 and 38 from Chisinau are suspected of selling large quantities of heroin. According to the General Police Inspectorate, for a gram of heroin the suspects asked for up to €160, IPN reports.

Potential buyers were looked for through social networking sites. These transferred money to a bank account opened in the name of a young woman aged 20. When the transfer was confirmed, the members of the group informed the buyer about the place where the drugs can be taken, through the agency of the same networking sites.

At suspected drug traffickers’ homes, the police found 40 grams of heroin, five syringes with a substance looking like liquid heroin, an illegally held pistol, €3,000, US$1,500 and about 4,000 lei. The culprits face 7 to 15 years in jail for drug distribution.

The suspects were placed under arrest for 30 days. The police continue the investigation to identify all the persons involved in this case.
