The policewoman who mortally hit a person in Singera by her car will appear before judges. The Prosecutor General’s Office said that she faces a maximum jail term of eight years and ban on driving, IPN reports.

The Chisinau Prosecutor’s Office completed the criminal investigation and sent to court the criminal case started against the 22-year-old woman over violation of traffic rules while intoxicated, which led to the death of a person.

On the night of August 29, 2023, the policewoman, being under the influence of alcohol, lost control of her car and ran this into three pedestrians in the Chisinau suburb of Singera. Two minors aged 6 and 17 were hurt, while a 31-year-old woman was killed. The police officer admitted her guilt.
