Premier orders choosing street that will be named Grigore Vieru

Prime Minister Vlad Filat instructed the Minister of Culture Boris Focsa to select the street that will bear the name of Grigore Vieru together with the poet's family and to formulate a plan of commemorative actions dedicated to the poet in concert with other authorities, Info-Prim Neo reports. The discussion was held as part of the Government's meeting that started with a moment of silence in memory of Gricore Vieru, who passed away one year ago. The Premier said the great poet left valuable works behind and his memory should be immortalized. During a year after the bard's death, the Chisinau Municipal Council could not decide which street will be named Grigore Vieru. The poet's bust on the Alley of Classical Writers will be unveiled a year after his death. The Romanian towns of Iasi and Alba Iulia have already inaugurated Grigore Vieru's busts. A Cultural Center “Grigore Vieru” was opened at the library “Mihail Sadoveanu” in Bucharest.
