The Festival of Forests, postponed due to last week’s storms, is being held today at the presidential country residence in Condrița. To prevent private car-generated traffic congestions, coaches departing from the Great National Assembly Square are available to bus visitors in and out of the event site. Admission to the festival is free.
The event is dedicated to those who want to “celebrate the forest and solidarity in protecting the environment”. Several discussion panels, interactive exhibitions and game workshops for children and adults are organized throughout the day.
The program includes workshops on woodcarving, twig toy making, wood painting, pottery, clay modeling, and quizzes on environmental issues. Also, there will be lessons on climate change featuring expert Rodica Cojocari, and a discussion on practical environmental protection activities in the forestry sector.
The festival is organized by the Association of Environmental Journalists and the Ecological Society Biotica, with the support of Sweden, in partnership with the President’s Office and other organizations.
