A series of renovation works have been carried out at the "Ion Druta" Public Library in Dondușeni district. The thermal insulation of the roof was completed with the support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), IPN reports.
To reduce energy consumption and utility costs, both the roof and exterior facades were thermally insulated.
Local authorities in Donduseni state that the renovations have improved the library's ability to provide the community with a warmer and more energy-efficient environment.
The head of the IOM Mission in Moldova, Ester Ruiz de Azua, noted that this initiative aims to promote inclusion and create safe spaces where migrants, refugees, and Moldovans can coexist.
In 2023, IOM conducted a technical assessment of the "Ion Druta" Library as part of a broader initiative to support the inclusion of migrants and refugees in Moldova.
The public institution serves around 1,500 people and coordinates 21 smaller libraries throughout Donduseni district.
