Renowned guitarist Francis Goya comes to Chisinau
The renowned guitarist Francis Goya is coming to Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
He will perform the shows "The Film – My Love" and "Nostalgie" on March 26 and 27 at the Organ Hall, accompanied by the National Orchestra.
Born in Belgium to musician parents, Francis Goya started playing the guitar at 12, and when he was 16 he made his first band - "Les Jivaros". In 1970 he joined a professional soul band "J J Band", due to which he toured all around Europe and Africa. He became a studio guitarist and accompanied a multitude of artists as Demis Roussos, Three Degrees, V” Leandros, etc.
The hit "Nostalgie", recorded in 1975, has brought him international recognition. At the same time, the album "Moscow nights", recorded in Moscow in 1980 and released in 1981 in all the Soviet countries, became an enormous success making Francis Goya one of the most renowned Western artists in Eastern Europe.
In 1991, Francis Goya conducted the Eurovision orchestra for Luxembourg's singer in Rome, and in 1993 he did so in Dublin. Ever in love with the Latin-American music, he recorded, additionally, more albums of Brazilian songs.
