The monthly supplements received by professional members of the military to help them pay rent will not be calculated based on their salaries anymore, but based on a reference value of 1,500 lei, as decided by the Government today.

In practice, the measure is expected to make it easier for military staff to pay rent.

Today the average market value for renting out a one-room apartment is about 3,000 lei and for a two-room apartment 4,500 lei.

The measure will also benefit professional military staff employed by the Carabineers Troops.
