The local authorities of Chisinau started to rehabilitate the Stairs of Cascade in “Valea Morilor” Park. The head of the Chisinau Constructions Division Roman Sofroni Monday said the project envisions the restoration of the Stairs and of other decorative elements from the area. It will be implemented at a cost of 12 million lei, IPN reports.

The project was designed by the Institute “Chisinauproiect”. At the first stage, there will be demolished and reconstructed the Stairs of Cascades. The rotunda will also be restored. The beach and the park alleys will be laid out within the second stage. The lighting, fountains and water reservoirs will also be rehabilitated. The stairs going from the State University and the Summer Theater will be reconstructed at the next stages.

The Park “Valea Morilor” that is 102 hectares in area was set up in 1952. During the last few years, the Chisinau City Hall spent over 70 million lei on cleaning the lake situated in the park.
