The Chisinau municipality will not manage to finish the repair works on Alecu Russo St by the end of this year, acting head of the Public Transport and Communications Division Igor Gamretski announced Monday, quoted by IPN.
The street is to be extended and the sidewalks are to be paved by this yearend. There will be stopped up the existing holes, while the street will be asphalted next year. Igor Gamretski said the repair works were delayed owing to the unfavorable weather conditions and to works to replace networks belonging to the national telecoms carrier Moldtelecom.
Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca asked that the intersections and the rotaries at the intersection with Moscovei Blvd. and M. Sadoveanu St be laid out on Alecu Russo St by the end of 2013. He also instructed that all the channels be filled so that the vehicles can move in winter.
The repair of Alecu Russo St will cost over 80 million lei. The costs rose by 15% since the works began.
