Restaurant and bar owners are urged to avoid using electrical heaters and other appliances without authorization in order to prevent fires caused by overloaded circuits, like the one that occurred last week at a Chisinau mall restaurant.
Liviu Merzincu, deputy head of the Chisinau Emergencies Department, confirmed at the City Hall's meeting on Monday that the cause of the October 31 fire at Sun City mall was a short circuit from overheated wiring.
The Department also urges owners and administrators to verify the wiring to see if their capacity holds up additional appliances.
As many as 40 firefighters on 8 engines were deployed to put out the blaze at Sun City last week. No one was hurt, except for a firefighter who suffered a burn to his arm.
