Salvaged carpets to be exhibited Museum of Ethnography
The National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History will open on Wednesday, September 19, the exhibition “Carpets salvaged from alienation”. The collection includes carpets received through donations or discovered during expeditions through the country.
The Museum’s scientific director Varvara Buzila told Info-Prim Neo that the carpets on display were collected by the museum and were never exported abroad. Some of them were donated by people to salvage them from destruction. Varvara Buzila added that their value mattered more than their number.
The carpets are part of the national heritage. If needed, they will be treated or restored.
